  1. Sorry to say it dude, but the chest pains are there to stay until your lungs can carry you.  I suggest starting off running 2 miles a day.  Yes you're going to be sore, but you're going to have to push throught that if you're going to want to get any better.  Now, when the soreness starts to go away, meaning that your muscles have grown enough so that it's easy to do 2 miles, I suggest you run 3 miles afterwards and so on.  That should be done three times a week.  Sprinting workouts should be done three times a week as well.  What you want to do is do your sprint workouts at 90 - 100%  and use your distance workouts as recovery days.  One day of the week you can take off and rest.  It'll take time, but you'll get there.  Need any more help just email me

  2. I run a six minute mile.  How I did it was a lot of training and eating well.  Also make sure your using good form.  Gently hold your hands together as if your holding a chip.  Don't breath too hard.  Make sure you are not crossing your arms when you swing them.   To get rid of chest pains try breathing in through your nose and out through your mouth also try streching it.

Hope this helps and good luck :) :)

the chest pains i think are just that you might be slightly unfit and so you are getting a stitch

try eating 2 hours before the race and then have something like a lolly before you run - it will give you a high so you can run better
