Question:

How can I safely carry my school supplies?

I am a sophomore in high school. I've been in school a few weeks, and I've come to find I cannot go to my locker except before school. This means that I must carry all of my textbooks (3), binders (4), folders (3), and assigned reading books (1-3) plus a calculator. I need to be able to carry all of this in a way that won't hurt my back. I have a backpack, but I just can't lift it when everything is in it (I'm very small). Any tips?

  1. get a note from the doctor saying its hurting your back....

and then complain with it. :D

  2. I'm in the same situation as you, I have tons of things to carry around and I still don't have all of my books, and while I can go to my locker whenever I want between classes; I doubt I'll be able to or else I'll end up being late.

For starters, do you have every single class every day? If you don't, put the binder/folder/textbook/book for that class or classes that you don't have to lighten the load. You could get one of those rolling bags if you're really concerned about the weight, I've seen some students and a lot of teachers that have a smaller stature do that; even though it's not really the "cool" thing to do anymore.

You don't want the weight of the books on your back if you're smaller, I know I wouldn't and don't. You could put the binders, folders, calculator, and the small reading books in your bag, and as for the books balance them out in your arm. It might be a bit difficult to get used to at first but if there's no other way around it, that's really the only way to go.

Or you could always ask your friends to carry a book or two for you if they don't have anything to hold and you're going in the same direction; they might not mind. Good luck! (:

  3. pay somebody to do it
