I want to save all of the emails from a certain person and save them as a file that I can put on a disc and then open on another computer and the email will open. I use Thunderbird if that helps.

  1. Another possibility on an IBM:

In Windows, on all computers, there is a program called WordPad.

Simply open a session of WordPad.

    Now open the email.

    Alt-Edit: Select all

    Alt-Edit: Copy

    Go to the WordPad "document"

    Alt-Edit: Paste Special, Unformatted text.

Alt-File: Save as... (give your email a name)

You could use WORD, (simply copy and paste) but what if the destination computer does not have WORD, or does not have the same version of WORD?

    All computers have WordPad.

It is in the Start, All Programs, Accessories....

The problem, is that graphics and art will not follow.  This will only give you the TEXT of the email.  And, you may have to edit it.

It all depends what you want to do with the email.

You then copy all the saved files to disk.

If the destination computer has email, you could forward selected emails to it.

  2. why not open a folder named under email your saving in email & move email to folder & if you go on another cpu and log into your email all that info would be there, hope this helps
