  1. If you live in the city and work in that city...you have got it made.  you can walk to work, or take the bus, or ride a bike.  You can also walk to the grocery store, and buy the small things that you need.  If you plan your trips you can make one day your "car" day...do the heavy grocery buying that day, do the long runs across town, or out of town...that way one days fuel will be much cheaper than running here and there 3 or 4 times a week.  Car pools are a good idea as well if you have to go out of town for work.  If you live out of town, plan your trips as well.  Make one or two trips into town do you for the week.  There is always 1 or 2 nearby gas stations that seem to have the lowest prices on fuel...stick to them.

    1. Do not accelerate quickly

    2. Avoid hard breaking - plan ahead

    3. Make sure tyres are inflated to the correct pressure - low pressure uses up energy.

    4. Reduce your speed - at least to the various limits on the road.

    5. If stationary for long periods switch off the engine

    6. Drive smoothly

    7. Use gears intelligently - too high revs use fuel - too low revs for the speed also use fuel

    8. Leave the car at home & use public transport or walk
