  1. "Say goodnight, Gracie!''.........

Dicamba, MCDA, and Triclopyr.... they are not going to like you for a long time..... and I'll be amazed if any part of the trees survive.....sorry.....

  2. bugger i have to say that if it is a hudge tree then do not worry but if it is small i would suggest digging it out and prune the leaves it might not work but it is worth a try but i havent done this before so you should probably get more information

  3. If it was a liquid weed killer you are going to have to wait and see because it is leaf ingested and is rain proof after 1 hour on average so water won't do anything.  Maybe if some of the tree is effected you can prune it to a decent shape with what is left.

If you got granular stuff on it you may be able to wash it off before a lot of damage is done.

  4. uh dig out the dirt around it and try to get all the contaminated dirt. if that doesnt work, your pretty much screwed id say. sorry

  5. Wow.  j*p maples are so tender anyway.........

Without knowing what you used, it's hard to guide you. The various herbicides and their various formulations work differently.  Add in volitalization from vapors and you have new problems.

If the leaves were sprayed or received the herbicide by vapors, then I'd be surprised if the trees survive .

If it's soil application and no vapors, maybe a good flooding will wash the herbicide thru assuming it is in a formulation that will wash.  Adding compost to the soil to increase microbial activity and maybe breakdown the chemical might work.......but I'm not holding my breath.

If the chemical is glyphosate, Roundup, and none hit the plant, just the soil below, you are OK.  But Roundup doesn't come in hose application that I know of.

More likely you've got a 2.4D, Trichlopyr or Dicamba type herbicide and your little maples could be in serious trouble. Removing the soil won't help if the plants were sprayed directly.

  6. Check the product to see what the active ingredient is.  If the a.i. is "2,4d" or "Dicamba" or "Glyphosate" you may be in a bit of trouble.  All of these chemicals translocate (move) through the leaves and down into the root system.

    Also, pruning would be ill-advised.

  7. If the tree is 6ft tall cut 3ft of it off.Leave it alone.Give it 48 hours then give it a shoot of miracle grow a gallon at the lease.Put a bag of soil around the base to soak the weed killer out.I"ve had 3 to survive by doing this.I mixed diesel roundup together and sprayed mine by ascendant.Just remember how tall the tree cut half of it off.It will grow back. This will stop the weed killer to spread in the tree fast.
