I hared that mother in japanese (haha) and also (osaka) so which one i use when i want to say (hi mom)

also what can I say father in japanese(chichi ) or what?

Okay, here's the basic usage:

1. When you are talking to another person about your mother, you use "haha" when referring to your mother (and "okaasan" when referring to the another person's mother). Ex: Watashi no haha. Anata no okaasan.

However, when you are talking to or calling your mother you call her "okaasan" and not "haha".

2. When you are talking to another person about your father, you use "chichi" when referring to your father (and "otousan" when referring to the another person's father). Ex: Watashi no chichi. Anata no otousan.

However, when you are talking to or calling your father you call him "otousan" and not "chichi".

Osaka is a city, not a word for mother.

As for greeting your parents in Japanese, it would depend on the time of day or situation.

First thing in the morning:

ohayou, okaasan (mother)/otousan (father); casual

ohayou gozaimasu, okaasan/otousan; polite

Daytime:

konnichiwa, okaasan/otousan

While this is technically correct, I do not think people normally say "konnichiwa" to family members if they live in the same household. Also, there is a cultural tendency not to say "konnichiwa" again in a single day if you've already greeted that person before in the day. A simple bow of the head and a smile works fine here.

Evening:

konbanwa, okaasan/otousan

Again, the same note for "konnichiwa" applies here, too. Then again, now that I think about it, Americans don't normally regreet each other throughout the day, either.

On the phone:

moshi moshi? okaasan/otousan?

Coming home from school/work/etc.:

tadaima (okaasan/otousan optional)

That's about all the greetings I can think of for various situations.

...What? If you want to say 'hi mom' say "Konnichiwa, haha."

Dad is 'chichi', so "konnichiwa, chichi." would work.

Those are informal versions (Haha and Chichi). You can use the informal when speaking informally to your parents - like hello.

But normally, you wouldn't include mother or father in your greeting. IE - good morning is Ohayo Gosaimasu - you don't need to had the Haha part.
