Question:

How can I send a gift to China?

My cousin is getting married in Qingdao, China in October. I want to buy them a gift, but don't want the hassle of carrying it on the plane with me especially since I don't know about their customs regulations. Can anyone recommend a website or contribute advice to the best way to send a gift?

  1. Depends on how heavy it is. US postal service is way too high for anything.

You need to worry about customs no matter how it gets there.Any package that enters China must state what it is, and it's value. If they have any doubts, they will open it to see what it is.

You don't need a web site. Just look in the yellow pages under shipping. Fed Ex, DHL...

  2. You can use UPS or fedex. They are very reliable and  you can track it online.

  3. UPS and FedEX are widely reliable in and out of China...

  4. FedEx is probably your best bet for that.

  5. we used USPS.  It starts at $20 (or close to that) and our package got there in 2 or 3 days.  I sent it the lowest class possible.  You do have to declare what is in it and the value.
