How can I send yearly reminders to my whole yahoogroup?

I would like to send yearly (birthday) reminders of our group members to our yahoogroup. How can I do that (I was the one who created the yahoogroup)?

You can use the Calendar feature for doing this. Ask your members to send you their real name/screen name and month/day of their birthday.

Here is an example of how to put "Janie's" September 30, 2007 birthday on your group calendar.

Click Calendar on left side of group page.

Click Events List.

On the small monthly calendar page on upper right which right now shows September 2007, click on the "30".

This will pull up a daily schedule page for Sept. 30.  

Underneath the large letters Sunday September 30, 2007, click on "Add Event".

On the "Title:" line, write something like "Today is Janie's Birthday".

For Event Type, use the down arrow and select "Birthday".

On the Date line, use the down arrows to select the month/day/current year.

On the Time line, select "This is an all day event" and under that, select "Starts at" (the time defaults to 12 am which is just fine)

For Location:  Do not put anything on this line.

For Notes:  Type in your announcement of the member's birthday.

For Repeating:  Select Repeat and use the down arrows to select Every and Year.  For the "End Date", select No End Date.

For Optional Information:  Do not put anything there.

On bottom line, Click Save.  Or if you have more than one, Click Save and Add Another.

Now take a look at your calendar for September 30 and you will see the 30 is highlighted. You can click on the 30 to show it's contents.

Also, click on the Events List tab and you will see Janie's birthday you just got through entering.

You can follow the following procedure and make a "birthday reminder" of your own group members by using the calendar section of your group.

a. go to your Group Homepage

b. From the left-hand side go to the "calendar" section of your group.

c. Go to the "events list" section.

d. one by one add the names and the dates of the birthdays of the members

e. You can add repeating reminders for them. (they are sent to your group every year)
