How can I separate from my family? Please help me.

me and my parents have always been close. More like they are always tryong to be arond me. Dont get me wrong I love them But I just want space. I have told them that and told them not to be so touchy in public. But it doosnt work. Like I want to be not that close to family likeI have alot of time on their own. My parents are kinda over protective, like when i go to a friends they need to talk to parents instead of just dropping me off (I am 14!)

I'll give you my advice, but be careful what you wish for.

Maybe you should build up your trust with your parents. Assure them that you aren't going to be doing anything that they wouldn't approve of because if they become suspicious that you're defying them that will give them more of a reason to want to walk you up to the door when you go to hang out with friends.

Also as for distancing yourself from them, maybe stay home when they go out to eat or spend more time in your room. While walking around in public walk a few steps ahead or behind them that way they won't attempt to be touchy-feely.
