How can I separate limestone and salt?

  1. Limestone, CaCO3, isn't particularly soluble in water.  Salt is.  Get the idea?  

    Add water.  Dissolve the salt.  Filter it to trap the pieces of calcium carbonate that don't react.  Dry the filter paper and CaCO3 and evaporate the water to get the solid salt.
