My fiance and I have 4 children all together. I have two girls (15, 8) and a son (12). He has a son (12). We are purchasing a home with only 3 bedrooms. All of my children are used to having their own rooms. I am unsure what to do. A 4-5 bedroom house is very expensive where we live.

  1. If a house with more then four bedrooms is expensive where you live, then you have to deal with having a three bedroom house. Even though your family is used to having their separate rooms, they are going to have to make sacrifices to help benefit their life. I think that you and your fiance should share a room, so that's one. Both of your daughters should share a room, so that is two rooms. The third bedroom can go to your son and your fiance's son. If they have any questions about it, say that its a great bonding experience between them.

  2. They will have to learn to adapt to this blended family.

Try shopping for a house with 3 larger bedrooms.

The two 12 year-old boys should share a room.

I think the 15 year old should have her own room. Perhaps you can take a larger bedroom and partition it to create separate living spaces for the two girls.
