I'm not a computer person at ALL. When I had a wireless network at my old apartment, we hooked the line to her computer, and my laptop could use the wireless network. However, I live by myself now, and only have a laptop. Am I even making any sense? :)

  1. Your laptop should come with wireless ability but first you will need a wireless router, otherwise you will have to hook the cable from the modem directly to your laptop.   The router comes with directions and you will have to set the router up to make it work with your computer

  2. If you buy or are supplied with a wireless router, you simply use the wired connection to set up the router. Once this is running correctly you set up the wireless encryption, channel and ssid. You should then be able to remove the cable and use the wireless card connection program to search for your router, set matching encryption and connect.
