Im trying to shorten an audio clip, a song. I want it to only play the main chorus part.

I tried using Windows Movie Maker, but I cant save the clip the way it is after I edit it.

  1. I agree with Fable, use Audacity, it also does other stuff, you can record your voice with it. And you can edit songs. It's very useful.

  2. In WMM, shorten the clip. Then, save it. It will be a blank video with the audio playing. Now use any converter (If you don't have one, you can try http://www.voobys.com/software/download.... ) to convert the movie into mp3 format. You should now have the shortened audio clip. Good luck!

  3. Use Audacity its free and it's a really good Audio editor (It's what I use).

  4. You need to use an audio editor/recorder.  There are many out there.  Like the person stated above, Audacity is a free one that has been around for quite a few years.  It has been refined and improved during that time.  It's a small download with no spyware/malware attached.  Also, to encode the music to an mp3 format, you need to jump over to another site (a link is on audacity's website to get there) that will give you the encoding file.  The instructions on audacity's website will tell you how to use the encoding file and how to use Audacity itself.

    Good luck.
