Okay the shirt is tie-dyed red and black and.. It's 100% cotton... And it's brand new.. From my school they gave it to us.. But mine is huge on me. So I need it to be ready by Friday. (Today is Thursday.)

Okay thanks... (:

  1. Clothes shrink in the washer if you wash them in hot water.  The issue here will be that hot water may cause the tie-dye to run.  Whether it runs depends on what types of dye were used.

Pour very hot water on an unobtrusive corner of the shirt.  Wait a few minutes, then squeeze the shirt to see if the colors run.

If the colors don't run, wash the shirt in warm water.  If it looks good, you may then want to try washing it in hot water.

If the colors run, you won't be able to shrink the shirt.

Putting it in the dryer won't shrink it, as drying cottons in a very hot dryer can actually stretch them.  Back in the olden days (1970s) we used to shrink our jeans by putting them on and sitting in a tub of very very hot water.
