How can I skip a whole year of school?

Question

One of my friends in 6th grade, when he lived in Texas, said he faked a sickness which I forget and he skipped a whole school year and was home schooled. Don't really know how true it was though, but It was a contagious sickness of some kind...

Anyway, does anyone know any sickness that can work like this? The reason why is sort of personal, but I only want to skip one year of school, and come back the next... Its sort of a long story why...

Any ideas would help for any way would help. Thanks.

I was skipped up a year due to issues with my birthday and cut off dates. I was born in November and the summer before second grade we moved to another city with March as a cut off date and they decided to skip me up due to my age and due to the fact that I was up to par in writing and reading. However, I wouldn't recommend it. Six years later my math is still suffering horribly for skipping a year of math, so you'd be good to just go through the year. It could go faster than you think.

Go  to school. My friend suffers from headaches and has had to miss whole weeks of school and her grades went way down because of it. Whatever you're trying to avoid, go to school and face it. Missing a year of school doesn't look good on college applications.

Sorry but you have to go school year by year. The only reason you can skip a grade is if you were very talented. This happened to be while I was the third grade  An illness would not allow you to skip a grade. In middle school can be hard. But now is the time to make friends. Enjoy life. The best of luck to you I know that you can do it.

I actually did this..

not intentionally but i had alot of stomach problems as a kid and i ended up having to be schooled by a teacher who would come to my house.

I suggest against it though because it costs a butt load for doctor bills and if your not really sick then they could try to treat you and then really make you sick..

Just go to school.
