Question:

How can I sleep and stop thinking about something?

Theres been something on my mind for the pass few days. And something today makes me feel guilty. This has happened before. Where I can sleep easily due to an event. But it lasted for weeks and even months. Its really bothering me. What should I do to make me forget about this and let me go on with my normal life.

  1. My suggestion would be to find out why you're feeling angry and guilty. And when you find out, go tackle the problem head on. And then you should finally be able to sleep peacefully.

  3. i agree with our venusstar89 for her suggestions and i add it up by not letting you forget about these...

    (you don't want to be such a forgetful one, do you?)

    ...just analyse what makes you feel like those (guilty and anger). try to find the best answer for you to cope with; and go to sleep with a plan to solve the problem/s  

  4. Oh i feel guilty over the sillyest things. Then worry about it for ages....

    This may sound stupid, but when i go to bed,

    i close my eyes and imagine that in my head is a tiny box with a padlock. and i pretend to gather all my thoughts and put them inside the box, and lock it up. I then imagine to put the box in a corner, and tell myself that they are locked away until the morning and my head actually feels clearer!

    You will wither try that, or totaly laugh your head off at that.

    Lol

    Good Luck anyway, try not to feel too bad, whats done is done so theres no point loosing sleep over it.

    Normally everyone feel guilty about the things who did it earlier. Pray to GOD for forgiveness and avoid to do the sin in furture as well.

    Read Holy books before sleep and take a hot bath. Take a deep breath and relax. Be happy and dont be panic...!

    Open your heart and tell and share feeling with your close friends and parents.

  6. This has happened to me many times..

    I usually try meditation;

    Find a quiet place, close your eyes, and try to relax.

    Take deep breaths. Just think about your breathing.

    Try your best not to think about the negative things bothering you.

    Then think of all the positive things in your life. Things you are grateful for(family,friends,[anything you cherish]..) Think of all the things that make you happy and some things you've done to make others happy. Think of everyone that loves and cares about you. Then ASK YOURSELF -- Is feeling guilty and being angry over something like this more important than all of those things?

    This doesn't work for everyone..

    Everyone is different and has their own way of handling things.

    Meditation is fairly easy though, and helps you to become a more relaxed and calm person.

    I don't know you or the type of person you are, so if meditation isn't really your thing - just try talking to a family member or close friend. I'm sure they will be willing to listen and help you get past your situation. Try your best to resolve the situation(if possible.)

    Apologize to anyone you may have upset or hurt. If you apologize there isn't much more you can say or do.. Then you should have no reason to feel any guilt or anger because you will have done everything you possibly could..

    Hope you can get past all of your troubles and get back to your normal life really soon..
