How can I sleep if I dont feel sleepy?

Usually happens if I sleep in the afternoon,when night comes I feel tired but I cant get myself to sleep. I lie down at 9:30 but sleep at around 1:00.

  3. Don't lie down at 9.30 if it takes you so long to fall asleep... Instead, watch a relaxing movie, drink hot green tea with honey, lemon, and raspberry juice. A protein snack is also known to relax the body before bed time. Take a bite of turkey or cheese... You could also practice some form of a relaxation technique or meditation. Clear your mind, it will help you drift off to sleep...

  4. I think your worrying about falling asleep too much. I used to have such a hard time getting to sleep, and then somebody recomended to me to stop worrying, and it helped soo much!

  6. Try reading before bed..or listening to music. I sort of have the same issue. Everyone sleeps differently, and some people don't sleep as well as others, or get to sleep as fast.

  8. Well, you should try not to sleep in the afternoon, which might turn into a strange sleeping schedule if it persists.

    If you think you have insomnia, then it might be from stress. Also, try not to do anything other than sleep in your bed. You could try sleeping pills, or, for a non-pharmaceutical approach:

    Lie in your bed in your favorite sleeping position (on your back, side, whatever) and begin relaxing one part of the body at at time. Relax the toes, then the feet, ankles, and so on up to the head. Also, close your eyes. If music doesn't keep you awake, play relaxing music (classical or white noise music is suggested-- lyrics might distract you). Daydreaming also helps, too.

  10. Take a sleeping pill around 8:30 PM. You will fall asleep around 9:00 PM and wake up at a reasonable time. Then don't mess up your schedule. But don't take to many or you wont be able to fall asleep without them.

  11. what i think you should do is to shut off all disturbances such as: tv. and music. sometimes I can't sleep until it's like 2:00a.m. in the morning but I turn my tv. off. and everything and I finally get some sleep. so just turn off all things that will make noise:computers and other things and you should be okay.

    about sleeping pills. or take some allergy pills that'll make you drowsy [but ask first for that too]

  13. take a shower and lay down without tv
