How can I smooth out vellum paper that got wet?

I bought a hard-cover book that has a translucent white vellum paper cover (that slips right off the book itself). The vellum got wet...probably only about 10 drops of water, but enough that now the beautiful cover is all buckled up in that spot (it's about 1" by 1" square).

Is there a way to smooth it out? Someone suggested spritzing it with water again and ironing it with a very cool iron. Any other suggestions?

Use a dry iron on warm setting ang use a pressing cloth or clean dish towel

I second using a warm iron. It should work good for you :)

Use a hot iron or blow dryer.
