  1. you can go to any home depot, etc and buy sheets of 1" thick styrofoam. these can be glued to the walls or to a light wood backboard and nailed to the walls. the thicker it is over 1" the better soundproofing it has. and no you won't hear out either. they run about 10 to12 dollars for a four foot by eight foot sheet, so if your room is say 12 x 12 you would need about 13 sheets to allow for cutting around doors, windows so you are looking at under 200.00

  2. thers a product called quiterock go to www.quitesolution.com and you will find what you need there good luck

  3. I'm no expert, but I've heard guys always joke about putting egg cartons on their walls as cheap DIY soundproofing, hehe!

  4. The best and cheapest way is to install a 4X8 sheet of sound proof material against your wall or sheetrock then you build another wall just the same as your existing walls inside your room and around all the walls this will reduce the size of your room. How it should go is existing 2X4 studs sheetrock then sound proof material then at least an 1inch gap then sound proof material then studs then sheetrock tape and mud paint to your desire problem solved. You must have that gap which cuts down on vibration, it has no where to go. This should cost you less that $3000.00 depending on the size of the room. But in reality the nest step would to deal with the floor and ceiling, the room must be entirely enclosed to completely sound proof it.
