I have a desktop computer that I bought a couple years ago cheap. It's only 80gb and my itunes has filled it up, so it runs really slow. If I buy an external hard drive will I be able to move my itunes and pictures on to it, but still be able to access itunes with my ipod? So, will I be able to open the program and run it normally? If not, what do you suggest?

    Etc.

Below can help you speed up your pc:

From IE, click Tools, Internet Options delete cookies delete files (offline files) clear history (set days to save to 0 if you want) click o.k., and Restart

    De-Fragmenting

    1. Right click of C Disk.

    2. Click properties.

    3. Click tools tab.

    4. Click "Defragment now".

  2. www.ccleaner.com , www.defraggler.com , this will work guaranteed

  3. Yes, you just have to make sure your iTunes library knows the new paths to your files.  It should ask you to locate the new file path automatically, or you can just drag and drop everything again form the new location to make things easier ...

My other suggestion is to open Run and type "msconfig" then under the Startup tab, uncheck everything you don't want to run when you start your computer and it should boot / run a lot better.

  4. RAM, RAM, RAM!!!!

  5. Using a registry cleaner can clean up your computer and then make your computer faster,Why?the reason is that there may be some registry errors and remnant, corrupt files and temp files in your computer to cause "computer slow".

Every time you install and uninstall software on your computer and surfing online you create junk in the computer registry.over time, the registry can grow to enormous proportions, especially if the various programs you've installed do not do a good job of deleting and/or updating it's Registry entries. You need to scan and clean your computer with registry cleaner to make it fast.Good Registry Cleaner will improve your computer and Internet performance dramatically!

There are some comparison and review of TOP 5 registry cleaners.

You can download and scan your computer for free.

  6. several things, but cheapest thing you can do is increase how much ram you have and get a 3rd party program to shred all your temp, cache, and cookies, spybot shredder works fine and its free.

if its still not fast enough, get a fast hard drive 10000 revolutions, it will give u much faster access time over a standard 7500 revolution hard drive.  another thing you can do is configure RAID 0 or  RAID 1, i forgot which i think its 1 though.  you use 2 hard drive to simultaneously read and write data.

any of those things i suggested will cost under 100 bucks.

  7. Check http://www.pcoptimizerprodownload.com

With pc optimizer pro you can safely clean, repair and optimize your computer.

It will help improve your system performance.

  8. i'm pretty sure you don't listen to 80 gb of music every day. what i do is archive old stuff on dvd's at 4 gb a crack. When I had 2X 20 gb drives, I moved 5 gb of videos i didn't watch to a dvd, and when I wanted to watch them, i just simply put the dvd back in.

if you aren't listening to some songs 24/7, moving them to to a cd or dvd is the best bet.

  9. To speed up your computer and free up space and memory for free:

Go to the Start Menu> Run

    Type in "appwiz.cpl"

    Uninstall whatever you don't need.

Next, go to Start> Run and type in "msconfig".

Go to the Startup Tab and uncheck everything you don't want to startup. If you want, you can uncheck everything, and your anti-virus will still restart itself when you log on.

Now go to My Computer> Hard Drive> Documents and Settings> [USER NAME]> Local Settings> and delete everything inside the Temp Folder. (This is a hidden folder so you will need to have "show hidden files and folders" checked in Folder Options) All the files in this folder are just temporary files that your Internet stored for certain websites.

Next, you should install CCleaner, it will get rid of alot of temporary files on your computer. It also has a registry repair system, which is easily the best free one available on the Internet:

Another option is to try defragmenting your computer.

Go to the Start Menu and go to All Programs

Go to Accessories and System Tools.

Choose Disk Defragmenter and when it loads click defragment.

Next, go to Device Manger (Start> RightClick My Computer> Properties> Hardware Tab> Device Manager) and expand all listings. Now rightclick and update all drivers.

Another thing I would say is to compress your files if you already haven't.

Open My Computer and right click on your hard drive

Check the Compress Drive button and let it do it's thing.

Finally, make sure your Hard Drive doesn't have any bad sectors. Go to My Computer> Right Click Hard Drive> Properties> Tools Tab> Check Now> Check both boxes and Start. It will ask you to reboot, so reboot. This will clear out any bad sectors on your Hard Drive.

These are short-term solutions however. the easiest way is to just upgrade the RAM on your system, but at least the ways above are free.

    Good Luck =]

  10. Try adding more RAM memory to your computer and get that external hard drive like you said.
