How can I speed up my internet connection?

Question

I have a Mac G5/Tiger/10.4.1. My Mac is connection by T1 line from my company's network. Other Mac's in the office have a much faster connection speed. We all seem to have the same settings, but maybe I'm missing something as far as a setting. I have tried Safari, Firefox and both are slow. Any help with be appreciated.
