I own a 1980 Concord xke moped, and I am interested in increasing the speed on it. Some one told me if I buy a new exhaust for it, it will increase the speed. Does any one know if this is true? And if not does any one know what I can do to increase the speed of it?

  1. Take big Susie off the back.

  2. if it doesnt have a govenor, you can probably speed it up by changing exhaust and intakes, but your not going to get "ALOT" of extra speed  out of it. Why dont you look at changing the sproket size if its chain driven, to one smaller on the wheel end or larger on the engine end. That will reduce power like take off speed but give you faster top end speed.

  3. carry it to the top of a big hill, and ride it down...

  4. wait for a cager to drive by and throw a rope catching their bumper, then hang on.
