How can I find teaching jobs? I know about going to the districts, but it is really difficult with so many districts... Is there a better way than filling out a million online apps? I am ready to teach... anywhere...

  1. I know in the portland metro area there is a program called Edzapp that lets you apply to multiple postings.  Check it out.

  2. California uses edjoin.org   But really it's about going to each district and having something that catches their eye on your resume or application.  Good luck because it can be challenging!

  3. You will most likely have to continue filling out online applications, but consider also sending your cover letter and resume to the individual schools at which you are looking to work.  If a principal wants to hire you, they will make it work.

  4. Unfortunately, you are limited to applying to individual school districts using their on line applications (if they use them) unless you are in a state like California where they use something called Edjoin.com or .org (?)

As far as I'm concerned, you will be reduced to subbing unless you know someone who knows someone or teach Special Ed or Math/Science.Oh and if you are bilingual, you can always find teaching jobs in highly populated areas where Spanish is spoken. IF you live in a city where there is a need for General Ed teachers, that's surprising! Most districts have high levels of nepotism. Good luck, you will need it!
