Question:

How can I spread awareness of a website that helps people prepare for disasters like the wildfires or floods?

I'm currently a college student at UC Davis, and recently while watching the news about all the natural disasters occurring across the US (floods and fires), my brother and I started a website where people can electronically keep a record of their important documents and valuables (ie. insurance policies, evacuation plans). It's entirely free, a way we thought we could help the community by providing them an electronic vault for the things that are important to them. The problem is I don't know how to spread the word to people! I tried to contact news stations, but have yet to hear back from them. Any feedback would be appreciated. I just want to let people know there's this option out there for them.

My website is http://www.kk2o.com

Thanks!

  1. Besides adding your site to search engines, you could try the American Red Cross. They're big on that sort of thing. You can also do a search for more local disaster sites and let them know about it. There should also be a local tv station in your city, try that. Eventually the word will spread.
