  2. I've found a few books that helped me, let me find the guys website, the books were cheap and well worth it, I have 2 of them, photo secrets and profitable photos, I think that's the name. One sec.... http://222reviews.blogspot.com looks like he took alot of his camera reviews away, had a bunch of camera reviews as well.

  3. Ok, it's a great question...

    Let's brainstorm a bit first...

What do you want to achieve with your photo business? Do you want a physical photo business (like a photo shop that shoots portraits or modeling work), or do you want an online presence, and find customers that way?

Scribble some ideas down... what are you good at... what do you love to do, what do you really love to shoot? Etc etc....

I think a great way to really find out the answer to your question is by going and asking a few photo studio owners... Just let them know you're a passionate photographer and that you want to get some ideas about how to start...

Take them out for a coffee or tea and sit for 15 minutes (have some questions ready) and listen to what they say. People like to talk about business and what they're doing so it could be a good learning experience for you.

If you listen well, after a while they'll stop and ask you what YOU want to do... and they'll probably have some good suggestions you can learn from.

Another way is by going online to some photo forums. Search for 'start photo business + forum' or 'start photo business + group' and you'll see many...

These groups usually have a wealth of information, and most experienced photographers love to answer questions. Plus some of them will have their own photo businesses too...

Perhaps the best way to start is to go and talk your ideas through with a few people who are already immersed in that business... they'll have a good understanding of what works, what the marketplace wants, what people want, etc.

By talking through your ideas, jotting down some notes and a basic business plan or goal you'll become clearer on the way forward...

Then it'll just be a matter of going and doing it! :)

    Hope that helps...
