  1. Dont do it! just change her school...I am a recent college graduate with a Psychology degree....bad on the child,...mentally,physically,emotionally... socially and so on.

  2. Most kids that are home-schooled are taught, at home, by their parents.  This may help you:

    homeschool4you.htm

Often, the home-schooled student can meet other homeschooled students.  If you live in a small town, try to find out from other parents that homeschool, what activities are available to your daughter.  Such as soccer, swimming, dance, and/or other specific activities in which your daughter can participate.

  3. Many single parents home school their children successfully, and it also depends on how motivated your daughter is in doing her work, and working with you; it is going to take the two of you.

    Check the laws, and requirements of your state here;

You may also see if there is a grandparent, or other relative can help for a few hours a day while you are at work, or you may consider changing up/adjusting your hours, or work from home.

If you are going to wait until next year you may want to check out this web site.

They will send you the books, and materials you need/request for free; they do this for those who cannot afford books, and curriculum's.

    http://www.booksamaritan.com/

There is a deadline for requesting the books, so contact them early.

Home schooling can cost little to nothing; there are so many resources available it is mind boggling.

On the end of this post I will give you a long list of web sites that have many free resources, and others require a nominal fee for their services.

You can make up a whole curriculum for less than $50.00 per year.

We use Christian Liberty Press, you can check them as well; they are just about the least expensive, and are great academically.

Do connect with a local home school group, these families get together for support, field trips and group classes, or coop's.

They may also be able to help you by loaning you some basic books to start with, so you can see what works for your daughter before you both decide what to request from the Samaritan, or buy  them.

The library can be a valuable resource as well, if they do not carry a book you would like try the inter-library loan program.

    The sky is the limit.

Good luck to both of you.

This site does require a $20.00 yearly fee to have full use of all their printable materials, but it is well worth it.

You can check them out for free, but it is a lot of curriculum in one place.

  4. im only 16 so im not a parent, but ive been in your daughters situation. my mom made me hold out and i ended up switching schools. if your daughter is in a small school (which i was when i hated school) a bigger school may be better, like if you have relatives around you, but in a different district, use their address and send her to whatver school. make her wait at least the rest of this year. obviously these are just suggestions, or also if when shes 14 and finished with at least 8th grade (obviously a while away) she still feels the same theres a type of homeschooling thing called penn foster its a little over 1000 dollars to do you pay $40 a month and you get your diploma at your pace, it may work for her. my friend just started it  like a week ago (her mom is tight on money too) and she loves it, but like i said you have to be at least 14 and done iwth 8th grade
