If we could get American drivers to realize the importance of such a small sacrifice and how it would help to drive down the cost of gas and heating oil for all of us and esp. for the working poor. This small sacrifice, 15 miles less a month, could save millions of barrels of oil and greatly help our economy. We want to bring our troops home, lets have the gas to do it. This 15 gallons less a month would only help for a short time but now is the time we need help. Will you join me?

I don't think you need to try a start here. Reality will make the start for us. I don't see how gas is related to bringing our troops home (that's political).

I drive the minimum now. Walk most places I can. We, the nation, has moved out of the cities to a better life style and are stuck driving back in town to work. I don't see that happening until the economic collapse that will plague our country because of excess credit.

Most military vehicles run on diesel and cargo planes run on Jet fuel, which is high grade kerosene.  Gasoline used in overseas military operations also never saw American soil.  It was sourced locally.  Our use of gasoline won't affect military operations.  If it became critical, the gov't would simply appropriate what they need.
