  1. Post fliers.. Put fliers in a ziploc bag, with a few rocks (to weigh it down so it doesnt blow away) Throw them in peoples driveways in your neighborhood.. Remember come up with a slogan Example: Laurens tutoring "making your child a success" or something of that nature..  Come up with a price, too.. Example $10 per hour.. In the fliers include a coupon of one free hour or something like that..

    Hope I helped!

  2. i tutor!!! i get paid also :)

its really simple, just print some flyers and go to a part of town where kids really need you and put them in mailboxes

    hope it helps....

p.s. parents like it when u tutor in public places (no offense)

  3. go to harvard business school thats where i went and i suceeded very successfully

  4. Put an ad in the paper, go to local elemantaries and advertise yourself, selll yourself.

  5. If you think you are good enough to do this, post a notice on the notice boards around the primary schools or where younger kids in your school will see it.

  6. Good Idea, Your wishful desire is great, doubtlessly.

Most powerful and most economical media of publicity is through word of mouth by your own pupils. Since, you are studying your self, as well as new to business. You better take help of teacher & principal of junior school to recommend you to students, seeking tuition.

Scoring, of these children will automatically get you more pupil in next session.

    With all the Best.

  7. If you are really set on doing it around your neighborhood, I suggest you put an ad in the local newspaper and also make flyers and post them up near schools, not much else you can do.

You obviously know how to use the internet. Why would you want to limit your customers to just the area around you? If I were you, this is what I would do:

Focus on building a name brand. Write books, or ebooks (you can make ebooks for free using Open Office) all the stuff you would teach someone. Make chapters and make different series...for instance, maybe series one is Algebra.....series two is geometry etc.

Then I would set up a website for your name brand of ebooks or physical books and begin advertising by craigslist, ebay, ioffer, newspaper classifieds, myspace, youtube, adwords, yahoo search marketing....use every advertising resource you can think of to advertise your website or the products you are selling with your name brand on them. With things such as adwords, they will place ads for your website or product on other peoples educational websites so you will get visitors that are interested in learning already. Then one day, we may see you selling your ebooks on CD or downloadable ebooks or even physical books on one of those late night infomercials on tv right next to that Tony Robbins guy whos a super milliionaire (probably billionaire by now).

Here's another idea, get msn and get a microphone headset for your computer. Start advertising as an online tutor on educational sites but also on sites where you can advertise service or skills such as getafreelancer.com and on your website. Setup monthly billing through credit card. There is tons of parents that would want their kids tutored without having to drive their kids somewhere or invite a stranger into their house. On msn its free and they can see you and you can see them. They can hear you if you have a mic and you can hear them. This is the same as tutoring around your area, but you are reaching customers all across the country, or all around the world if you want.

  8. go to a elementry school and ask the principal if u can tutor some kids with low math grades

  9. First of all, you have to market yourself.. and exactly how do you go about doing this? Well, you can market yourself thru the internet..

    1. Pick a catchy domain name

    2. Invest in a website

    3. And simply "market" it

For starters, the internet is a great place to have your product or service known to the whole world and what more to say.. around the community. Just make sure your web page is presentable, and I tell you, once you have that constant traffic flowing in, you can sell your service big time.

I can actually help you with that.

  10. Hello,

Great post.  The most important part of business is advertising.  This makes or breaks a business.  Some of the best ways to advertise I've found are:

    1.  Offline promoting (business cards, flyers, newspaper and other print advertising).

    2.  Online promoting (buying banner ads, forum posts, email auto replies).

The best method that's worked for me so far is handing out business cards.  I don't do this in the usual way.... I buy them in bulk from a place online (they give the cards for free, I just  paid shipping and handling...they also give a really nice free business card holder, it looks impressive).  They're really high quality.  I just put all of the info about my business on the cards, and I hand them out on cars at bus stations, malls, etc.  It's worked out really, really well for me, and it's completely inexpensive =)

    Good Luck with your business!
