I want to get together with people once a month or every other month in a supper club to share food and cooking ideas, and to promote the fellowship of friendship. What do you think are some good ways to get people out of the "I don't know if I want to cook" thing??

  1. I used to belong to a Gourmet Dinner group for years.  We met once a month at each other's homes.  The wives would have a planning meeting about a week or 2 ahead, to decide on a theme (usually a different country);  and we'd be assigned a course to make.  We'd have a little discussion about options for each course.   The host would make the main dish, and provide wine.  At the dinner, we'd all submit our costs for our dishes.  They'd be added, and divided by the number of couples.  Some people would pay, and some would get reimbursed - but everyone ended up paying the same thing:)

  2. send out a sign up sheet to all your friends- put on there optional dinner or cocktail party so instead of making a whole meal they can do a bunch of appetizers instead. then figure out how many people will be participating and set up a rotation. BYOB to each event so costs are not too much- then figure out a set day for your parties like every 2nd Sunday of the month or every 3rd Thursday night or whatever it may be.

Even if it's just you and a few other people it will be fun! We used to do a Sunday dinner with just one other couple and we always had fun!
