hey im 15 and acting is my dream and passion, I know everyone says it but I cant imagine my life without it. I really want to start pursuing my acting career now but i dont know the best way to do it. I also live in Western Australia were there doesnt seem to be auditions or anything availiable, which makes it alot harder. I would prefer not to get an agent just yet but i will if i have to. ive only done drama at school but looking for lessons now (so any recommendations on that are welcome) but I have done 4 years of modelling. This means alot to me. I really appreciate your help, thanks.

  1. find a good agent and get some photos taken

  2. hi there,

If your looking to do acting in West Aus, first look at what type of acting you want to do (e - emphasis on screen or stage?) The place I'd recommend looking into to further your education is WAAPA (on one of the ECU Campus') Here you can make connections with a variety of filmakers, directors etc for both stage and screen, and if you get involved in productions associated with WAAPA, these are likely to come to the attention of real people in the industry. Also look around to the different universities, screenwest, theatre groups and online sites for acting opportunities (For example, theres groups for it on facebook). There is an amazing large amount of auditions out there (Though they may not be all in the "industry") for good actors, which area great place to start. Im at Curtin at the moment doing FTV, and its incredibly hard to find good actors.

So get out there, get some experience, and some contacts, and hopefully you'll work yourself into a career in the industry.
