How can I start an internet radio station for free? I'm not exactly a computer smart person, nor do I know much about radio stations.

try live 365 at live365.com. you can do a 7 day free trial but after that it's $9.95 per month.

How about podcasting?

It's an easy way to break into on-line music.

I use Podomatic and it's Basic service is free.

You'll need to download two small programs, Audacity and LAME, and a cheap microphone from Radio Shack.

Audacity is a program that turns a playlist of mp3's into one, long mp3.

LAME allows you to upload the mp3 to Podomatic.

A word of advice.

I've posted over 13 episodes and quickly started to run out of music. It takes 18 to 20 songs to fill a commercial-free hour of music!
