  1. i held my mothers hand as i cautiously walked inside the seemingly enormous school

or my mother mom grasped my hand tightly as i was eagerly trying to pull us both inside whether she was ready or not.

  2. Discuss the emotions you felt. Talk about all the new smells there were. The fears you had: were you afraid you'd wet your pants? Of course, the teacher probably made the biggest impression; maybe you could start with her.

Arriving early to my first day of kindergarten (thanks to my mother's three dry runs driving to school), I encountered my new teacher. Towering over me with a big smile with red-orange lipstick applied way over the lip line, Miss Olsen was ...

Don't be afraid to have a little fun with it!

  3. You can start by saying how you grew up/matured in school./

  4. it was me facing the biggest school ever i was very curious about things such as .....(and then you continue on)

  5. You can start it off with something like: I held my mom (or dad's) hand tightly as they slowly opened the door to kindergarten, a world of new opportunities. Then you can put funny stories about your day or you can put how you felt and stuff like that. Good luck!

  6. Do you even remember your first day of K?  Tell a funny story.  Or start by describing how excited or nervous or eager you were.

  7. The best way to get started, especially for an AP class which expects you to write on a college level, is to first brainstorm all of your ideas.  Go through all of your sensory memories of kindergarten.  How did you feel?  How did it all look, from your perspective?  Then, once all your ideas are on paper, organize them into the body.  For your intro, specifically, you probably would want to use something that has a lot of sensory details, something about how you felt when you first arrived at the school.  Remember, this essay is probably a way for your teacher to familiarize his or her self with your writing style so you can reach a college level.  Show your personality, but remember structure is just as important as flash.
