How can I start with this? And how can I tell my parents? and...(read description please)

Question

How can I tell my parents that I want to sing.

See,

Lately I've been seeing other people performing,

and It's put a smile on my face,

I want to be that one putting smiles on other people's faces,

I know,

it's a ONE in a MILLION chance to get that far,

But I want to try

I have A FEW

kinda, major problems though

1. I'm 14,

Am I too young to start now? Too old?

1. My voice isn't the best.

Lessons? Online program? Should I just give up :(?

3. My rents'

Wouldn't totally agree.

They're letting my 8 year old brother, live his dream,

even though he's eight,

I'm the one who's mother practically planned out my whole life for me....

14 isn't too young.  Also, consider what kind of singing you want to do.  Do you think it would be helpful to have some classical training?  (More than likely.)  Also, lessons are a must.  You are at an age where it would be very easy to damage your voice.  You don't want to do that, so find a good teacher.  I think your reason for wanting to sing is great.  It's why I do what I do also!
