I can't afford one of those expensive hydration backpacks.

  1. I would stick with the water bottles on the frame you can usually depending on the bike mount two bottles on the upper and lower parts of the frame thats what i do because i had one of those waterpack things break open and my back got soaked soo i stick with water bottles

  2. large water bottle on the frame

  3. get a camelback a walmart

  4. then, don't buy an expensive one! i found many camelback look-alikes at coleman for very cheap. like 30 bucks, even cheaper usually. try walmart or target.water bottles are annoying anyway.

  5. Costco has cheep stuff i got one for 30 bucks and its all most as good as my Camel Back MULE .

  6. drink enough before and after.  How much is enough?  How long  are you out and how hot is it?  And how hard are you working?

I use a 24 oz. bottle up to about 90 min efforts in the winter, 40f.  Summer one bottle per hour, or about 24oz/hour.

I also like Platypus bladders and hose and use my own luggage; shoulder or hip pack.  I have a 70oz and 100oz.

Nashbar frequently hydration systems for less than $20
