Question:

How can I stop Daily Severe Sugar Cravings?

I have struggled with eating disorders (anorexia and bulimia) since I was twelve (I am in my 30's now). I am not overweight - at all - and generally eat a very healthy diet and get moderate exercise. However, no matter how careful I am I get massive sugar cravings on a daily basis.

I eat chocolate and candy every day, unless I'm fasting. Fasting is very easy for me and I can go several days with only water. This is how I'm able to stay so thin. But as soon as I eat again, back come the cravings.

I have tried not to fast, but then I just start gaining weight and I can't stand it, so I end up doing it again.

Maybe I've just messed up my whole metabolism from so many years of doing this? I want help, but I really don't know what to do about it...

  1. If you want 146 incentives to steer clear of sugar you can find them in http://www.rheumatic.org/sugar.htm .

  2. You have got to just stop eating anything with white sugar in it.  This is an addiction, just as if you were addicted to drugs, cigarettes or anything else.  Handle it like an addiction.  You can have sweet things like natural honey.  Avoid sugar coated cereals.  Eat oatmeal with a little bit of fruit in it or applesauce and cinnamon  It will take some time to rid yourself of this addiction, fast for 2 days to get the sugar out of your system and then eat on a regular basis with a good balanced diet.  The cravings will dissappear, if you keep away from white sugar and its by-products.  Good luck.
