How can I stop bugs from coming in my house?

This summer, we've had a bit of a problem with bugs coming into our house, and I was wondering how I could stop that. We live in the country, so there's a lot more of them.

We live in  the county too so I have always used black pepper and cayenne together and put alittle around the base of the house.Dollar tree has the bigger bottles so I get 3 at a time then put in a big shaker so I don't waste anything. In the summer I use Borax laundry detergent just plain powder in big shaker and do yard as I don't want our dog to get fleas.Its harmless to animals and is biodegradable.In garage I use boric acid.
