I've got a steep hill that I am planning to plant pacasanda(sp) on so that it will prevent it from eroding. My question is in regards to while the plant are rooting. Is there something I can do to prevent any erosion if a rainstorm happens before the plants have taken root? We have had some severe rainstorms this summer and I'd hate to lose all the hard that it will take to get the plants in. Thanks.

  1. Try spreading hay 3 or 4 inches deep .

  2. The hay (or straw) is an excellent suggestion.  If the area is very steep or the rain is expected to be really severe you can also buy lightweight landscape netting that will hold both the hay and plants in place.

  3. Terrace it, no choice.
