Question:

How can I stop my cat from wanting to get into my house?

He's ALWAYS trying to get into my house, but I don't really want him in here. He's got my screens torn up from hanging on the windows trying to get in (he's not very bright lol). I always put food and water in his dishes. Well, almost every day. But he still expects me to open the door - no matter how hot or cold it is outside - and let the heat or cold in just so HE can come in. How do I make him stop wanting to come in?

  1. Let your cat come into your house where he will be much safer and apparently happier, or find a loving home for him. It is not fair to him to make him stay outside when he wants to come in. Most people have the opposite problem. You are fortunate that you have a cat that wants to be indoors. You put food and water in his dishes almost every day? Who gives him food and water on the other days? Please find a loving, caring home for this poor cat who desperately needs one. If he were your cat, you would let him in the house and provide fresh food and water daily. It sounds as if he is a needy stray. I hope you are able to find a good home for the poor cat!

No, God gave cats humans to care for them ! :>)

Rescue a feral cat to live outdoors, and let the poor cat who wants to be a house pet be a house pet!

  2. Of course he expects you to let him in!  Cats like to be inside and comfortable, just like all other pets.  He might as well be feral the way you're treating him!

As for "I always put food and water in his dishes. Well, almost every day," well, don't be surprised if he runs away.  I have a friend who always has other people's cats coming to her for food and attention.  When she takes them back to their "owners" she always finds out that the people don't let the cat into their house, or that they forget to feed it, or that they travel a lot.

If you insist on thinking of this cat as "yours," yet don't want it in the house, there are metal grates which can be installed on the outside of screen doors to keep the screen from being torn.  Nothing much you can do for the windows.

It basically sounds like you have a cat who would like attention and comfort, not just the occasional meal.  If you don't want to provide him with these essentials, I'd suggest you find him a home with someone who knows how to be a pet-guardian.

  3. ok so feed him with biscuit but feed it outside the house!

  4. Please give your cat away--I dont know why you have a cat--it doesnt even sound like you like him

  5. Why do you own a pet if you really don't want anything to do with him.  You said  you almost remember to feed him anyday.  Reading that broke my heart, the poor animal is trying to get into the home he thinks he has but he really doesn't.  Why not give him to a rescue so he can find a real home with someone who wants him.

  6. so why on earth did you get a cat if one you don't want him in the house and how come you only feed him when you think too.for goodness sake find him a home and a person who will feed him daily and will care for him more than you are capable.and i don't know about the cat not being bright, i think he's more brighter than you.and if i knew your address i would report you to the R.S.P.C.A..

  7. wow... that sounds really mean. If you don't want the cat take it to the animal shelter. It can get hurt or sick staying outside all the time. A pet is a pet because you want it around you. If you don't want to love on it please let him go to the shelter where he can get a home where he can be loved on.

God did not give us cats to keep mice away!!!! That is just a bonus.

  8. *hisses*

  9. Why not let him in?  I have a cat who stays outside, but does want in.  I let him in and he eats and sleeps.  Then he wants to go outside.  I dont see a problem letting a cat inside.  I agree with the rest, treat the cat better.

  10. Cats are healthier and live longer if they are kept indoors.  God did not give us cats to keep mice away - that's like saying He gave us dogs to slobber on our feet to wash them.  Makes no sense.

  11. FEED HIM EVERY DAY But anyways he is a cat let the poor thing in the stinkin house you got him now treat him with respect!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  12. give him away if u cant handle it

  13. live outside!

there is none that can resist the power of the mighty bast!

    (((zilla)))

  14. Tell him that he's violating the Ceiling Cat's commandments and that he will go to heck.... believe me, he WILL go to heck and u won't see him again

  15. Wrap in a good stout package and its UPS to the rescue ....  send him one way to 90210

  16. I think it is quite irresponsible for you to even consider calling that feline YOUR cat. When one considers to be a guardian of a pet it is a responsiblity.  Poor animal is stuck outside and not allowed in.  Gee if he could turn the tables on you,  How would you like it if you were not allowed inside whether it be hot or cold?  You don't even feed him every day.  Makes me wonder if he has been neutered or up to date on shots.  You are obviously one who should not be allowed to have a pet.  The best thing you could do is find another home for the feline and buy mouse traps.

  17. Why the h**l did you want a cat then? Give him to someone who will care for him properly!

  18. Find him a new home, you obviously don't want or deserve his companionship.

  19. Ah these cats regualrs are too easy to wind up. LOL

  20. Actually, God didn't give us cats to kill mice.  We domesticated wild cats to be pets.  He'd do better inside.  Plus, if you have the cat smell inside, it is a better preventative for keeping mice out.  I don't think you need this cat.  Give him to someone who will take him in.  Buy some mouse traps instead.

I'm actually hoping you are just a troll, but some people really are that cruel to their pets.

  21. I don't know why you bother to feed him at all. If he is a cat that is worth anything he should be able to catch all the food he needs to eat. If he is not catching enough mice to fed himself then he's not worth keeping around anyway.

  22. What?  You don't like pu$$ies?

  23. You don't want to let him in because of the weather outside.

The weather you are forcing him to stay in?  That weather?

Truly, I thing you would be better off with mouse traps.  You are giving your cat a poor life, from his perspective - please take it to a shelter who will try to find a loving home for him.
