  1. Move the radio away from the computer slighty, electrical interferance is your problem.

  2. Move them apart!

  3. If your radio and computer are on opposite sides of the room try rotating the radio 90 degrees.  Most AM radios use a ferrite rod antenna that tunes for maximum signal strength when it is at right angles to the signal source.  So if your radio is on the other side of the room and facing the computer it's picking up maximum signal.  Now you also have to locate so you can point the radios antenna to pick up maximum signal from your real radio station.  For that you can null tune the station by rotating the antenna for the poorest signal.  When you find that you know what direction the radio station is in so you just turn the radio 90 degrees for maximum signal strength.  If the radio is now pointing at the computer you may have to move the computer to minimize noise.  Now all those steps take care of the radiated noise from the computer.  Now you may also have a problem with conducted noise if both of them are plugged into an AC outlet.  If you still have the problem after setting up the antenna you may have to get a filter strip for your computer or the radio.  Most good surge suppressor power strips also have built in line filters.  In order to make all this work it is also important that the original covers be on your computer to provide the necessary shielding.  You also need to have all the screws in the cover for the same reasons.  It's also critical that a 3 prong plug be used.  The third prong is the earth ground connection.  It's used for safety and by the internal line filter to clean up any noise on the power lines.  The 3 wire plug is needed for the computer, but probably will  not be required for the AM radio.

  4. The problem is your radio, since radios have magnets in their speakers, and are not good for PC's, nor CD's DVD's.

Also mobile phones should be kept well away from PC's too.
