How can I stop my side file drawer on my desk from slowly rolling open?

It's an old Reception desk. the side drawers has a small one on top and a file drawer on the bottom. The bottom drawer will not stay shut, it just very slowly opens almost completely. Help!!! It's making me crazy!!!

  1. you need to adjust it so that the drawer is tilting ever so slightly inward. this is done on the sides of the draw or the slides on the inside of the desk(one on each side)


  2. you can borrow my parrot for few days, he knows how to open and close drawers...

  3. Just tuck a little folded wad of paper or cardboard under each of the front legs, causing it to tilt back a bit.

  4. I'll bet your floor is not completely level.

    Try a square vinyl floor protecter under each of the front legs of the desk.  This will raise the front of your desk slightly and will hopefully prevent the drawer from opening.

  5. There should be adjustments on the bottoms of the desk legs.  Adjust the ones at the part of the desk where you sit out, (s***w counterclockwise) and that should tilt your desk slightly upward so the draw stays shut.  Any of the other methods should also work.

  6. put something under the two front feet to slightly tilt the desk back.Gravity will do the rest.
