I really like doing sit ups but when I do them my neck and back hurt to the point where I have to stop. My neck feels like it is very heavy and its hard to pull up but I do try to use my abs to pull my body up, even so my neck hurts ... any help ?

  1. you should try gettin maybe a sit up machine which supports your neck and makes sure your doing them correctly

    good luck

    xx

  2. do crunches. or use an ab roller. i got my abs doing ab roller because i have a horrible neck. crunches seemed to work faster in my opinion anyway. I definitely saw a lot more progression when i started using crunches, and WAY more when i started using an ab roller.

  3. if ur neck is hurting your doing them wrong and to cut up your abs its not really sits ups it more the crunches that tone your abs

  4. Hold and stretch a small hand towel in both of your hands and rest your head on it that way you can concentrate on your stomach rather than supporting your head.

  5. get some one to hold your feet and cross your arms on your chest when you sit up make sure you dont move your arms! i had to same problem it was only when i went on a fitness thing i found this way and it really does work! good luck with it x

  6. You are not doing them correctly which is why your neck and back hurt. Stop doing them before you seriously injure yourself. Try doing crunches instead. Here's link that will help you to do crunches properly.
