My 4 year old son is very curious and has a bad habit of touching things he is not supposed to. So far he has broken a cd player, dvd player and battery operated t-ball stand. He cant keep his hands off things. I have tried punishment, talking to him before going to these homes etc and nothing helps.

Please help.

  1. Give him a little slap on his hands and tell him that you will do it again if he touches what is not his.  He knows that it is wrong, but knows that if he does he will not get into trouble.  You are not beating him. You are giving his discipline.  He will get tired of the "little slaps."

  2. I think you should give him an option. Tell him if he doesn't stop, he won't be able to visit his friend again. If tests you and does it again, enforce the rule.

Or another option is that you could let him know how his friend feels. I say you should take his favorite toy and hide it. Each time he breaks a toy of his friend's, take one from him.

  3. Tie him to a cinder block with a rope.  It will immobilize him some and help him build muscle.

  4. smack him as hard as you can

    lol only jokin

  5. Each time he breaks something, each time you buy a replacement and give it to the owners in front of him so that he will know that it is bad to break people's things.

  6. Take his things away as a object lesson.   Maybe a swat on the buttock will suffice in adjusting his attitude too.

  7. Keep him on a lead

  8. Leave him at home with a babysitter.

  9. Simple. Tell him if he breaks one more thing he is going to go to military school. If that doesnt work everytime he breaks something add a chore that he has to do every weekend.
