How can I stop my two cats (brother and sister) from fighting?

I have brother and sister cats who used to get along really well. Recently, the sister (who's extremely timid) has been getting freaked out by a neighbourhood cat who sits outside the window. She's turned her distress back on her brother and has started hissing at him and getting very angry. We've closed all the blinds so she can't see the other cat but we're wondering how to stop our two cats from trying to kill each other.

  1. its best to ether call someone to train then or basically put the in separate cadges and   put her on punishments till she stop and hopefully

they should stop but im not saying they r going to be bffs or anything just stop fighting

  2. Try putting a bell on each of their collars. this will stop them from pouncing on each other and making surprise attacks. it will also allow you to hear when they may start a fight so that you can break it up.

  3. Tell them off whenever they start. I've got two sibling cats as well, though the situation is slightly different - the brother's a bit manic and gets pissed off easily, and takes it out on his sister. We just tell him off when he starts; it's not a brilliant solution but it stops the poor sister getting beaten up too much! With time he's calmed down a lot, as well.

  4. well, when we had two cats, they always fought!! but, we just let them do it, after about two weeks they were normal. they fought like three times after all the fighting and then they were done!! my other cat helped my other cat l**k itself!! it was soo cute =]

  5. You may want to get some of the cat deterrant stuff and put it on your window so the neighbourhood cat doesn't sit there anymore.  I'm sure he enjoys freaking your little girl cat out!

Give both of them lots of attention (especially your girl) and it should calm down after awhile...but it may take a few weeks.

  6. How Old are your cats? Desexed?

I have brother & sister cats from the same litter. As soon as the male reached sexual maturity the female went rank cos the boy was trying to constantly rape her. We got him desexed and it's back to normal.

I do have 6 Cats starting with mum and have kept 5 kittens from 4 litters. 4 boys & 2 Girls. All my boys are desexed but the girls aren't. This time as soon as they fell come into heat and then fall pregnant they don't want a bar of the boy cats at all. They have been very bitchy at the boys and they normally aren't. The girls are hissing at us as well - which is even stranger.

I have a water spray bottle that keeps all the cats in check - no matter what mischief they are getting into. They see it & Run now. I haven't had to spray water from it for weeks.

  7. If you have to keep the ridiculous feral animals, why not get them both de-sexed, and help stop the planet being infested with them.
