How can I stop petrol fumes coming into my bedroom?

I've just moved into a house with a bedroom over a garage and the bedroom stinks of petrol. My Dad keeps his grass mower in the garage but not a car. I wake up every morning wheezing and coughing. How can I stop the fumes getting into my bedroom?

Maybe you can install an air ventilation system in your house (well, get a professional to do it). We've recently had that done and the air is so much cleaner and drier.

Alternatively, tell your dad that the grass mower is making you sick and ask him to move it elsewhere.

if u r paying rent u can complain to the owner.or if u bought the house u can do water proofing on the top or u can buy a super filler and apply it on the wall and paint above it. the super filler can stop the petrol fumes from falling atleast for a month. otherwise u can ask the workers in the garage to be creful so that the affect of the super filler can stay for a ong time.
