Question:

How can I stop receiving e-mails from a group I am not part of at Yahoo?

I have been receiving messages from Momsonthehill@yahoo for a couple of years. I never joined this group and am unable to join the group. But, the emails keep rolling in, and there are alot of them. marking them as junk does not work, as they are numbered and so each one is different. I can't reply to the group to kick me off and like I said can't join. I am so sick of getting these 10-15 messaged a day I am about to dump my e-mail address I have had for 5 years, but, I really don't want to do that, so if anyone knows what I can do here I would love to fix this. Thanks!

  1. at the bottom of those e-mails will be an unscribe address/ link however I don't suggest to leave in that manner since there's a large delay in it going through. since you were added, you cant go to the group and leave in that manner. you're an e-mail sunscriber only when added.

I would suggest sending a e-mail to Momsonthehillowner@yahoogroups.com and asking "them to remove you since it's against TOS to add people without permission, and if you have to report them for this add, it'll risk that group being shut down.

""It’s against the Yahoo! Groups Terms of Service to add people to your group without their permission. Yahoo! Groups provides the Add Members feature as a convenience to group moderators for those occasions that require directly importing a few email addresses to a group. If you abuse this feature, your group will be deleted and your Yahoo! account will be suspended.

Yahoo! highly recommends using the Invite Members feature as the preferred method to add members to your group.""

  2. BLOCK THEM!That is a simple yet dumb question or u could just not give out yoUr e-mail address or not read the e-mails or reply back and say please take me off ur e-mail address this happens to me all the time

  3. I would look at one of the email addresses that are replying to the group and ask them for the moderators name so you can email them and tell them the story.

OR..lots of groups have moderator names with their email adresses on them....try to email them asking to take you off

  4. Here is how you can unsubscribe from a Yahoo Group:

    1.Try to unsubscribe through:

    http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/groups/...

    2. If this doesn't work out, send an e-mail to the group owner telling him/her to stop mailing you. (GROUPNAME-owner@yahoogroups.com)

If these still didn't work for you try the following options:

    3. Block the address(es) or arrange your preferences so that they are sent to your bulk/spam folder.

    4. Contact yahoo customer care:

    http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/groups/...

  5. Did you try by clicking on options then block sender and add the address to your blocked email addresses?

  6. I am going through exactly the same though the group i am on about  has a side line saying tick this ifi do not want to carry on the subscription. I done this at least 44 times to no avail so i changed one hiffen in my e mail and forwarded that to those that i had ticked and from that day i have not had nw since, I have two accounts though, one for when im messing and checking stuff out though now i tend to use the one only oops and the free one o got from Yahoo!!!

  7. i just put it under spam then go to setting and for all the e-mail coming from that email and done

  8. send them a message saying; stop sending me this message. i am not a part of your group so stop.

  9. If you haven't tried it yet go to the groups site and look for the moderators email address. Send a request to them to stop the emails.

  10. go to yahoo help and then tell them to please take you off

  11. GO TO THE GROUP AND TRY TO GET OUT ..IT SHOULD HAVE A THING TO  LEAVE GROUP.

  12. join the group and they will stop emailing you

  13. Another way is to set your filters such that all messages coming from this group will directly go to your Spam or Thrash folder (whichever you choose). And, with one clean swoop, you can delete all the contents of this folder.

    HTH.

  14. Send a blank e-mail to Momsonthehill-unsubscribe@yahoogroups.co... .

Or send a message to Momsonthehill-owner@yahoogroups.com asking them to remove you from their Group.

  15. when u go 2 click the little box that u delete emails with, dont press delete! instead press the SPAM button and they shouldnt email you anymore!

  16. do not reply to them

block that group that is sending the e-mail

  17. check someway will be there to unsubscribe....thanx

  18. You block the group and on options write the email account that you dont want emails from it works for me. i feel your pain.
