How can I stop spam from posting in a group?

I recently joined a group owned and moderated by a friend of mine.

His group is being spammed by somebody using the group's email address and we can't tell who.

Is there anyway to stop this type of spamming?

Is there anyway we can find out who is doing this?

  1. It must be one of the members so he could change the posting  settings to moderation.Click management lower left of your cover page then click messages under description and appearance.   scroll down to Posting and Archives click edit.  Tick your selections and click save changes.  The next message he sends should  be caught then ban him.  Edit.  Open his message then on the right you will see ban author, click and get rid of him,

  2. if hes a user that signed up then cant you find him there by his name and block him?

  3. when you see the group's email address- it can only be used in certain ways-

they're sending calendar reminders- the owner needs to go there and search for the reminder, see who created it and then remove/ ban that member and limit the calendar. if they have it open to the public, any one can add a reminder.

  4. if someone joins your group PM them and talk to them and make sure they post stuff. If they dont post propper stuff or reply to PM's then they might be a bot.
