How can I stop the United States military from sending me mail trying to recruit me?

I have absolutely no interest in joining any branch of the military. I was only called once and they didn't call back after I asked them not to, but I get mail at least once a week. It is annoying and they are wasting resources. How can I get them to stop mailing me stuff too? Is there some sort of list that I can get on to not be contacted at all?

  1. So throw it away. Treat it like you do all your junk mail. Now how hard is that.

  2. The first way is to join the military, they'll drop your name real quick. Or try looking for a 1-800 number somewhere in the mailing. Call and request you be taken off their mailing list.

    Join them.

  4. You can do what I did a couple of years with all the political campaign mailers I got... save it up for a while, then take it down to their offices and give it back, saying you're not interested.

Yeah, it probably didn't do much, but dumping the shopping bag full of mail on the desk was kind of fun.  Make sure to sort it by branch, like I did by candidate.

  5. lol @ the first answer. But anyway, I'm sure there is a way, but I wouldn't go to all that trouble. After a while it will stop. In the mean time recycle it or something.

  6. Write "DECEASED" on it and send it back.

Of course you won't get any other mail either............
