How can I stop wasting paper?

I've recently started working in an office as a receptionist and the amount of paper that this place wastes and doesn't recycle is incredible! Does anyone have some solutions to stop so much paper being wasted? I'd really like to know.

My only guess would be to take matters into your own hands.  Take any paper thats not confidential or has sensitive information (those should be shredded anyway) and take it to a local recycle place or designated recycling area.

Have your company assign someone to shred all waste paper and take it to be recycled.  If all companies followed this simple policy the benefit would be significant.

Advise your superior to recycle their paper.

Have a talk with your boss and tell him/her the consequences of not recycling. If he/she is someone with a hunger for money, discuss about the money you make by selling recycling materials. Or you could just talk to the person that waste the paper and tell him/her to give it to you instead. Or go electronic, use the computer more often in substitution of paper. That's all I can think of...
