How can I store away things in my basement?

I live in a studio apt. What's good for putting my off season clothes in the basement?

Also, do I have to put lysol in it after 8 months?

Depends entirely on whether your basement is completely dry or is damp.

If it's dry, you should be able to use plain plastic storage crates with good snap-on lids.

If it's damp, you're going to need storage boxes that seal to keep the moisture out.

In either case, use pallets or boards to get stuff up off the floor.

Lysol won't help much.  Keep stuff sealed up and use red cedar balls.

Rubbermaid tubs and if you want to keep your clothes smelling fresh add some sachets or fabric softner sheets.
