Question:

How can I store raw tobacco leaves for cigars without them drying up and going to waste?

I prefer to smoke cigars using my own tobacco and was wondering if I obtain raw tobacco leaves how I'd be able to hold onto them for a good amount of time and have them still fresh for use whenever desired? I'm familiar with humidifiers but I was hoping for an alternative solution. Any advice would be truly appreciated. Thanks.

  1. cigars and 'fresh' don't make sense - cigars are rolled with aged tobacco and the finished product is further aged.

    Your best bet would be to roll the cigar and then age them in spanish cedar to remove the ammonia by product or vacuum pack them if you prefer to smoke them young.....

  2. if you would stop smoking you would not need to know

  3. Do not store them in the fridge!!!!! They will dry out in there.

    I would buy a cheap humidor and keep them in there, you can find them on ebay or craigslist all the time for really good prices.

  4. Some people refrigerate their tobacco, but my ex-husband felt that it picked up refrigerator odors that tainted his 'experience.'  So he kept his tobacco leaves in freezer bags and added a slice of fresh bread or a slice of apple to keep them moist---ya just leave in for a few hours.  A humidor is your best solution.

  5. put them in a refrigerator!=]

  6. a humidor.
